Scentual Circles Soap and the LabyrinthThis soap was born out of my passion for labyrinths and how they have forever altered my outlook on life and any challenge it might present.
The labyrinth is an archaic design that has been in human consciousness for centuries. The spiraling pattern has been found in churches, monasteries and ancient sites world-wide. Unlike mazes, there are no dead ends and no choices to make regarding which direction to travel when walking a labyrinth. The same path that is walked into the heart of the labyrinth is followed out after reaching the center. Walking the path as it alternately progresses and turns back upon itself can balance the energy system and the left and right hemispheres of the brain, returning equilibrium to the body, mind and spirit.
I began walking labyrinths in 1996 when two friends introduced me to the magic and mystery of this tool for meditation and inner pilgrimage. Since that time I have been fascinated with the effortless way that walking this ancient path can disperse long-held tension, stress and unrest.
In 2002 I became certified in holistic aromatherapy and began a love affair with the healing value of essential oils. In my work with essential oils, I became very interested in how they could effect positive changes on all levels of human experience - physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
I felt there was a kind of natural affinity between the purifying energy of essential oils and the enlightening power of the labyrinth - both seemed to produce the same effect of clearing the body-mind-spirit of inner discomfort and turmoil. And so the idea was born to combine a labyrinth design with a high quality glycerin soap scented with essential oils - Scentual Circles!
